Physical Education, Games and Sport
At Barrow 1618 we aim to teach Physical Education in a way that inspires and encourages pupils to lead a healthy active lifestyle including an understanding of personal wellbeing. We want pupils to develop their skills through experiencing a wide range of sports and physical activities using a progressive programme. Lessons will allow pupils to learn at their own pace, through recaps and next steps to stretch and challenge them when they feel ready and comfortable to do so. Pupils are encouraged to ask questions, be creative, reflect, show resilience and take risks in a safe environment fostering a ‘growth mindset’. During the lessons we aim to allow pupils to develop enthusiasm and enjoyment for sports and exercise, as well as increase team work and leadership skills.
